!La Mancha! -a side trip to Orgaz, Consuerga, south of Toledo.

Pictures, etc.

...from the plains of La Mancha - Quixote country.
We took an extra excursion south of Toldeo in search of the Quixote windmills. We found
not only the windmills, but really outstanding rolling hills and plains, Moorish castles,
and beautiful olive groves. We even came across a rainbow. This part of Spain is very
sparsely populated. At one point we drove for about 1/2 hour without seeing another car
or even a house on either side of the highway - only farmland.

Our route south from Toledo and back.

Moorish castle on a hilltop

The olive groves.

A restored Moorish castle just south of Toledo.

Another view of the castle.

Entering Orgaz.

The plains of La Mancha from a hill in Los Ybennes.

Just for us...maybe as a reward for the rain in Toledo...a rainbow!

Another view of the rainbow.

The Windmills! If we could only figure out how to get up there. No signs...

Another view. Still no way to get up there.

Another good view.

Finally, we find the road. It was worth it! It was incredibly windy there...
The door of the car seriously almost blew off when I opened it to take this picture!

It really was worth it, these were pretty interesting.
